Achieving complete reaction while the solid volume increases: A numerical model applied to serpentinisation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Solid volume increases during the hydration of mantle rocks. The fluid pathways necessary to feed reaction front with water can be filled by low density products. As a result, dries out and stops at progress. This process porosity clogging is generally predicted dominate in reactive transport models, even when processes such as reaction-induced fracturing are considered. These predictions not consistent observations mid-ocean ridges where dense rocks completely replaced serpentine minerals. To solve this issue, we develop numerical model coupling reaction, flow deformation. High extents only achieved considering that increase solid accommodated through deformation rather than clogging. generate an overpressure depends on extent boundary conditions. induces viscoelastic compaction limits reaction. serpentinisation rate therefore controlled accommodation change thus deformation, either induced itself or tectonic processes.

A numerical treatment of a reaction-diffusion model of spatial pattern in the embryo
In this work the mathematical model of a spatial pattern in chemical and biological systems is investigated numerically. The proposed model considered as a nonlinear reaction-diffusion equation. A computational approach based on finite difference and RBF-collocation methods is conducted to solve the equation with respect to the appropriate initial and boundary conditions. The ability and robust...
متن کاملCognitive Strategic Model applied to a Port System
Port organizations have focused their efforts on physical or tangible assets, generating profitability and value. However, it is recognized that the greatest sustainable competitive advantage is the creation of knowledge using the intangible assets of the organization. The Balanced ScoreCard, as a performance tool, has incorporated intangible assets such as intellectual, structural and social c...
متن کاملA two-dimensional numerical model of a planar solid oxide fuel cell
A two-dimensional CFD model of a planar solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) has been developed. This model can predict the performance of SOFC at various operating and design conditions. The effect of Knudsen diffusion is accounted in the porous electrode (backing) and reaction zonelayers. The mathematical model solves conservation of electrons and ions and conservation ofspecies. The model is formulate...
